SIKKENWORKS BEETLE BLUE V1.3

BEETLE BLUE FIRMWARE WITH USB AUDIO AND V2 PROJECT STORAGE. EXTENSIVELY TESTED BY THE DEVELOPER ON TWO PHYSICAL FM1 UNITS. Installing can lose projects or make the FM1 unbootable. Proceed only with an independent recovery method and complete verified backup.

BEETLE BLUE V1.3 / TRACKER6 LANES / USB AUDIO

BEETLE BLUE V1.3: Native firmware build and SHA-256 package checks passed. This does not certify physical OTA updating, safe NOR writes or analogue audio levels. Project schema BDR1 V33 is not interchangeable with BEETLE TRK1. Back up projects and verify recovery first.

LOCAL VERIFICATION

INSTALL BEETLE BLUE V1.3: Select NATIVE BEETLE BLUE FIRMWARE. The exact V1.3 release .fwsc is embedded and checked by SHA-256, CRC and OTA-loader audit. For other compatible FM1 packages choose OTHER CUSTOM.

BEETLE BLUE V1.3: Embedded firmware identity FM-1_2224. This image has passed offline container and checksum checks, while exact OTA transitions and audio deadlines are not certified by this package audit. Hardware users must have an independently proven recovery method and a verified backup. Global U01–U13 playback is included for already-migrated Storage V2 volumes; physical FM1 timing has not yet been validated.

The exact BEETLE BLUE V1.3 firmware is embedded and SHA-256 pinned. Optional file must match it.

Storage and recovery details
SHARED BEETLE / BEETLE BLUE STORAGE POLICY: BEETLE uses 12 A/B-journalled project slots in 0x97000–0xDFFFF. This storage variant can erase existing ETCH/Felucca user data during first-use initialization or an explicit WIPE ALL. The existing project transfer and backward-compatible native project decoder are retained; V23 project-owned short samples remain separate from the PC-only global sample library. This installer does not back up flash. Once the vendor loader takes over, it controls firmware writing. Back up all data before installing, because a failed firmware update may require independent hardware recovery.
Firmware package information
SIKKENWORKS BEETLE BLUE V1.3 / TRACKER

Firmware for the M-VAVE FM1. Supports twelve project slots, global user samples and USB-C audio. BEETLE BLUE has been extensively tested on two physical FM1 units by its developer. Confirm your own installation and recovery setup.

Important: Package integrity and identified FM1 hardware cannot guarantee safe flashing. This installer cannot recover a device with an inaccessible bootloader or USB interface. A complete backup is required. Firmware Freedom routes must be independently tested. Do not disconnect during updates. BEETLE BLUE has been extensively tested by its developer on two physical M-VAVE FM1 units. Verify backups, installed version and updater compatibility before flashing.
Universal firmware switching / UBOOT
If a source firmware does not implement the compatible two-stage USB-MIDI OTA protocol, STOP and inspect the log. For ANY different loader or boot-image layout, BEETLE requests entry to the independent FM1 UBOOT mode. After reconnecting, use the target firmware's own compatible updater. This button does NOT write or approve the target firmware. Exact loader support and successful recovery depend on that firmware. You can also hold OCT- while switching on the FM1 if BEETLE is not responding. Back up projects before using any updater.

BEETLE BLUE REC recovery (when supported): start the FM1 holding REC (minimal USB mode without audio), then connect using desktop Chrome or Edge. If MIDI is not listed in Windows, try OCT- held at power-on for the independent UBOOT path. Connect directly with a USB data cable and close DAWs and other MIDI applications. Do not unplug during installation.

Technical installation notes

READ-ONLY DEVICE CHECK only sends identity queries; it does not start any update or write to flash. The identification FM-1_900 is shared; a successful handshake alone does not prove loader compatibility. A reboot between CHECK and FLASH is expected. If it reconnects to the old version instead of the OTA loader, the log records it. Save the log if an update fails.

A successful USB transfer is not enough. This installer only verifies the returned firmware product identity after restart; that identity is shared with V1.4.1 and is NOT a cryptographic proof that the new application started. Verify the firmware version and audio behavior on the device.

FIRMWARE HUB DIAGNOSTICS: If the Hub says "Different firmware's update loader is running", use the read-only Hub checker first. A working BEETLE application and an actual update loader need to be distinguished. BEETLE now recognizes CRC-verified Felucca-family application-only loaders beyond its former SHA pin, but firmware switching via The Firmware Hub is NOT hardware verified. Official V15 remains exact-image-pinned; unknown loader families remain blocked.
