BEETLE 1.01 RC1 · PROJECT TRANSFER LAB
EXPERIMENTAL SOFTWARE-ONLY BUILD. NOT TESTED ON PHYSICAL FM1. Installing can lose projects or make the FM1 unbootable. Proceed only with an independent recovery method and complete verified backup.
FM-1_015 as a source device.
Keep BEETLE 1.01 RC1 selected to install BEETLE; the separate OFFICIAL V15 option is for restoring stock, not installing BEETLE.
If your FM1 runs V14 or an unknown custom firmware, first update/return to the official V15 using its supported updater (for example M-VAVE M-UPGRADE).
We cannot safely guarantee direct installation from every custom firmware. Back up presets and projects first.
01 / SELECT FIRMWARE
LOCAL VERIFICATIONOnly individually audited, SHA-256-pinned targets using the same approved 16 KiB boot header and OTA loader can be selected. No generic bypass. This mode will not erase unknown data or remove device-side checks. Back up projects first.
Firmware is verified locally. No upload to a server occurs. Stock V15 and ETCH V1.36/V1.37 are currently approved; Felucca and other custom releases need an exact audited firmware build.
The browser accepts only the verified official V15 SHA-256. Files are not uploaded anywhere.
Storage and recovery details
0x97000–0xDFFFF, including ETCH projects
and waveforms stored there. The firmware itself and OTA region are excluded.
A complete, verified flash backup and recovery method are required BEFORE confirming
SELECT + SAVE for 5 seconds on the device. No erase of unknown project data happens during a normal boot. Initial erase takes longer than the five-second confirmation hold: progress is shown on the FM1.
Storage initialization remains destructive; verify backup and recovery before approving.
Firmware package information
Experimental physical storage build. First BEETLE storage setup ERases prior ETCH/Felucca USER DATA. Back up ALL FLASH before setup. OTA writes remain enabled. Risk: if it fails to boot, a software rollback may not be possible.
Read firmware safety warnings
Use desktop Chrome or Edge. Connect the FM1 directly with a USB data cable, and close DAWs and other MIDI applications. Do not unplug during installation.

Technical installation notes
READ-ONLY DEVICE CHECK only sends identity queries; it does not start any update or write to flash. A reboot between CHECK and FLASH is expected. If it reconnects to the old version instead of the OTA loader, the log records it. Save the log if an update fails.
A successful USB transfer is not enough. This installer reports success only after the FM1 restarts and returns the exact expected firmware identity.
